At MacWorld this morning, Steve Jobs introduced something radio people should have sorta mixed emotions about. The good news: it's a "remote" control for the IPod and Nano that adds FM radio to the IPods. The iffy news: will IPod buyers (there are 42 million of them now) pay $50 for it, to get FM? Isn't that why they bought the thing...to get away from FM? Not to mention AM. Steve's new gadget even supports RDS. Remember RDS? Well, it's nice the podsters have the option now, maybe. This wasn't, by the way, the big news at MacWorld. That was about new Intel Macs. What's the big news in radio?

Not impressed with this accessory. Firstly, a radio? Surely the iPod is like having your own personal radio station. Secondly, FM and not DAB? Only available in white, too. What about all the people with black nanos.
This MacWorld announcement was overhyped.
