In the piney kingdom of Seattle, two mighty fiefdoms are today locked in mortal combat. The Principality of Entercom has laid siege upon the Duchy of CBS, oft called Infinity. Entercom's quest: to carve a great swathe of Country from the domain of CBS' long-unchallenged tower, Castle KMPS, called by its contented subjects, "Compass."
Entercom has dubbed its new Country tower "The Wolf," in order to frighten Compass defenders unto death, intending that they should stumble in panic. Their war-cries, "Country is moving," and "Now you have a choice!" suggest that Compass has truly surrendered already to their wolfen howls.
To lure Compass subjects across battle lines, The Wolf says it is playing Fifteen Thousand Songs in a Row, Without Commercials. To counter this incentive, Compass is offering citizens the chance to win Ten Thousand Dollars Every Day they resist The Wolf's blandishments.
So it goes--fierce and warlike Radio Guys struggle for limited territories, as delineated by the wizard Arbitron, who controls through the intimidation of "science" the greatest purses of the kingdom. On they clash, though citizens grow weary of endless tower wars, and could not care less about the rude and violent postures of the warring parties. The subjects know that The Wolf will surely thrust commercials upon them, in knots of four or more at a time, when the last of Fifteen Thousand Songs in a Row fades away.
Will the Country citizens of Seattle desert Compass for The Wolf? Is Fifteen Thousand Songs in a Row enough to break the people's bond with Ichabod of the Morning and other Compass jesters? Will Compass become so unsettled and peevish as to drive their subjects into the jaws of the fearsome Wolf?
If other, more peaceful Country enclaves beckon, might the people not pack up and flee their war-torn environs, never to return?
