I'm thinking of deleting this blog. I'm not sure it's worth my time, or yours. At least, I'm not interested in continuing to just complain and push the sarcasm button.
Here's a radio station format idea--and as I write this, I'm thinking it will sound Martian to most radio guys. Nevertheless...how about a format for old people. And I don't mean "The Music of Your Life." First, of course, you'll have to sell spots direct. Because although millions of people over, let's say, 55, listen to, indeed, dote on radio, and are relatively easy to count, Arbitron 50-plus numbers are simply shaved off by stations and advertisers.
Then, of course, you'll have to grit your teeth and ignore the fifty-plus years of commercial youth culture that has made aging another word for failure in America. I'd like to have a nickel for every time some fool said, Now that the Baby Boomers are crossing Fifty, aging will be considered hip. Read my lips: Cos-met-ic Sur-ger-y and Bo-tox. Today, in America, aging is just another word for Alzheimer's.
But, what if there was a station in every city that was hip, alive, smart, and sold people over fifty with a daily celebration of humanity, programmed by people old enough to know better?
Think about it, while I get ready to pull the plug on this blog. What can you say about an industry that considers its spiritual leaders to be Howard Stern and Rush Limbaugh?

Dave, if you don't continue to complain and push the sarcasm button, who will? The internet needs sarcastic complainers like J.LO needs a good divorce attorney...on permanent retainer.
Maybe you're just not getting paid enough. Or maybe your spending is out of control - did Tina really need that new cashmere/silk blend sweater in 3 different colors http://store.yahoo.com/tailsbythebay/cabldogsw.html?
On the other hand, how many people require 2 seperate blogs for a normal and healthy amount of sarcastic complaining? If your not spewing the "normal and healthy amount," I believe Merck has a new drug for that.
I want you to continue writing also.
